Kids English

Building English skills
that stay.

English is not simply a school subject. It is a skill that children need to develop and use. At Skill Square, we help children build practical English communication skills — age-appropriate, structured and purposeful.

English is a skill children need to develop and use.

At Skill Square, we distinguish between learning about English and being able to use English. School provides an important academic foundation. Our programme provides additional opportunities to develop and use English as a practical communication skill.

"I studied this English." → "I can use English."

We don't teach every child the same English programme.

Every child is different. Different age, current English ability, previous exposure to English, confidence, communication ability, learning needs and pace of development. We don't simply ask a child's age and put them into a predetermined English class.

🧠

What can the child already understand?

We assess their current comprehension and understanding of English.

🗣️

What can the child already communicate?

We assess their ability to express themselves in English.

📊

Where are the gaps?

We identify areas requiring development and strengthening.

"I know it." → "I can use it."

Children don't progress simply because they have completed a set of lessons. Progress means they can understand more, express more, communicate more independently, use English more accurately and handle more demanding language tasks.

"I know the answer."

Knowing the correct response in a classroom setting.

"I can explain it."

Being able to express ideas clearly and independently.

"I can use English."

Using English in real-life communication.

What should you look for?

When children learn English, it is natural to ask: "What marks did my child get?" But at Skill Square, we encourage a different question: "What can my child actually do with English?"

"What marks did my child get?" → "What can my child actually do with English?"

School English provides an important academic foundation. Skill Square provides additional opportunities to develop and use English as a practical communication skill. The two work together, not against each other.

Progress means that children can understand more, express more, communicate more independently and use English with greater confidence and accuracy.

Learning before progression. Mastery before completion.

We don't teach every child the same English programme.

We first understand the child's age, current ability, needs, confidence and stage of development. Then we build an appropriate learning pathway. The objective is not simply "finish the level." It is to develop the ability represented by that level.
